The fastest way: in the app
The fastest way to delete your Speakle account is from inside the app. It takes one tap and the deletion is permanent.
- Open Speakle.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we remove:
- your authentication record (Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In identity link);
- your Speakle profile and display name;
- every audio recording you've ever made;
- every transcript, score, and streak record tied to your account;
- your leaderboard entries and any public share cards;
- your subscription alias in our analytics and entitlement systems.
The deletion runs in the background and finishes within a few minutes. We can't restore anything afterwards — please be certain before you confirm.
What we keep, and why
We keep a minimal record of your subscription history (transaction IDs, dates, amounts) for up to seven years to meet basic tax and accounting obligations. This record contains no audio, no transcripts, no analytics events, and is not linked to a usable identity.
Lost access to your device or your sign-in?
If you can't open the app — for example because you've lost your device or you no longer have access to the Apple ID or Google account you signed up with — email us at support@speakle.io from the email address tied to your account, with the subject line "Delete my Speakle account". Include any details that prove you're the account owner (the approximate date you signed up, the email Apple or Google returned to us). We aim to action manual deletion requests within 7 business days.
About subscriptions
Deleting your Speakle account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought from:
- iOS — cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Speakle.
- Android — cancel in the Google Play Store app under your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Speakle.
Cancel before or after deleting the account; cancelling stops auto-renewal.
